🌿 Did you know Savagnin grows in Bergerac? Yes 🌿 Did you know Savagnin grows in Bergerac?
Yes — at Château Tour des Gendres, this historic Jura grape has found a new home in the Périgord! But why plant Savagnin here? Gilles de Conti explains 👇

1️⃣ A personal conviction.
“We wanted to have our white grape varieties evolve — we felt less connected to the richness of Sémillon, and were looking for more tension and freshness.”
2️⃣ A quest for vibrancy.
“At first, we considered planting modern varieties, but in the end, we turned to older grapes — Savagnin and Chenin.”
3️⃣ Back to the roots.
“Savagnin is actually the genetic father of most white grapes, including Sauvignon Blanc — so blending the two was an obvious choice!”
4️⃣ The result?
That’s how Cantalouette Blanc was born — a blend of Sauvignon, Savagnin and Chenin — and later, Le Vif, our 100% Savagnin cuvée, a truly gourmet wine.
5️⃣ Inspiration from the Jura.
Margaux and myself already drink a lot of Savagnin wines — we love its versatility and purity.”
6️⃣ Why it works in Bergerac.
“Savagnin thrives on marl soils — like in the Jura — and adapts beautifully to our terroirs here.”
7️⃣ And in a warming climate…
“It’s an early-ripening, resilient grape — perfect for our changing conditions. It also resists oxidation, which suits our low-sulphur philosophy.”
🍇 The result after 7 years?
A thriving vineyard, expressive wines, and a new chapter for Bergerac whites. We’re even grafting 3.5 additional hectares of old Sémillon vines to Savagnin ones.

Margaux de Conti – Château Tour des Gendres ✨ Margaux de Conti – Château Tour des Gendres ✨

My brother Gilles and I own and run Château Tour des Gendres together since 2022. Together, we manage 30 hectares of vineyards (half white grapes, half red grapes), located around the village of Les Gendres.
As a child, I swore I would never take over the estate… Yet, during my studies, I realised all my projects revolved around wine. One day, a friend told me: “You should really go for it!” That advice pushed me towards international wine business studies.
With Gilles, we grew up in the vineyards and the cellar. Working together was our childhood dream. When he suggested that we take over the estate as a team, I said yes immediately. Today, we’ve found a natural balance: he’s more technical, I’m more focused on management and sales. We always make the big decisions together.
Our arrival marked a new chapter: keeping the emblematic cuvées created by our father, while launching our own, focused on freshness and drinkability. A way to write our own story, while keeping with the family legacy.

🍷For me, a good wine is one that combines freshness and length, that lights up the palate and inspires countless food pairings.

👉My favourite cuvée? Le Vif, of course. A 100% Savagnin, sharp and radiant, that pairs beautifully with raclette, but also with asparagus and mushroom risotto.

🤝And what about Accents & Terroirs? They represent 50% of our distribution abroad. More than a simple partner, ours is a relationship of trust, almost like family. I’ve known Olivier and Géraud since my teenage years: their support brings us real comfort and allows us to focus on what matters most — our vines and our wines — with the serenity of knowing that our cuvées travel the world in good hands. 🍇✨

👤 Meet Maxime, our Sales Manager If we had to 👤 Meet Maxime, our Sales Manager
If we had to sum him up in two words: tenacity & precision.
Born in the Indre region of France, Maxime probably had his first taste of Chinon or Sancerre in his baby bottle! 🍷 After gaining experience in Australia’s Margaret River and later in Phnom Penh with a renowned importer, he joined Accents & Terroirs in 2021. Since then, he’s been flying the flag for our winegrowers across Europe with dedication and rigor.
✨ Maxime’s back-to-school pick: Galapia from Domaine Albert de Conti — a fruity, light, and friendly wine, perfect for late summer family gatherings. He just confirmed it last weekend, enjoying it with his own family! 🥂
